Who we are

Richie Jones - Director and original digital believer

Richie has witnessed the digital disruption revolution emerge from an initially ignored phenomenon (especially by large network agencies) to the generation defining change agent it is now acknowledged as being.

Never one to say “I told you so”, but…

He started out in the sector on the agency side having founded and then sold Digital agency Yucca to Mission Marketing Group 4 years ago (now known as Bray Leino Yucca). Whilst at the business he pioneered agency eCommerce Performance Marketing approaches, design and build approaches with the senior founding team.

He then moved client side to be Marketing Director (CMO) at private equity funded Park Resorts (£230m turnover) where he undertook a digital transformation strategy and launched the brand on TV for the first time as its high successful foray into ATL advertising.

Running a team of 50 he was on the board team that successfully completed a £350m refinance and the £28m acquisition of South Lakeland Holidays. The group has since gone on to merge with Parkdean and is now the largest holiday parks group in the UK (Parkdean Resorts) having just sold for £1.2bn.  

Richie then moved to EWM Group as Group Head of eCommerce for the privately owned £600m turnover group heading up significant online growth strategies for brands such as Peacocks, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Jane Norman and Ponden Home.

Most recently he was headhunted into the role as head of Digital & Marketing at the privately owned Lifestyle retailer Saltrock where he implemented an Omnichannel growth strategy that has taken the eCommerce business from below 8% of the business revenue to 22% in two years and seen 300%+ revenue growth in that time. He also launched the brand on TV and bolstered its overall marketing approach to aid retail and overall brand alignment with modern marketing approaches.   

He is now in the process of setting up vvast and is incubating various Lifestyle eCommerce, brand and mobile start-up projects under its broad consultancy umbrella.

Richie is a well known industry speaker, industry awards judge, multichannel / digital tech blogger, fan of many brands whilst finding time to spend time with his family, Surf (long & short) and Mountain Bike (flat pedals & baggy shorts).
